These words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart. And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as emblems between your eyes. And you shall write them up on the posts of your house, and on your gates.

My son, forget not my law, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and long life and peace shall they add to you.

Hear, you children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine. Forsake you not my law. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also, and said to me, "Let your heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding, forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve you: love her, and she shall keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom, and with all your getting get understanding."

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.

Jesus called a little child to him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, "Truly I say to you, except you be converted, and become like little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whoever therefore shall humble himself like this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me."

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.

God loves a cheerful giver.

Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.

Out of the mouths of children and infants you have ordained praise.

All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.

A fool despises his father's instruction, but he who regards reproof is prudent.

Whoever keeps the law is a wise son, but he who is a companion of wild-living men shames his father.

The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice, and he who begets a wise child shall have joy of him. Your father and your mother shall be glad, and she who bore you shall rejoice.

Children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children are their fathers.

A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.

Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Hearken to your father who begot you, and despise not your mother when she is old.

Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not set your heart on his destruction.

Withhold not correction from the child, for if you beat him with the rod, he shall not die.

A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scorner hears not rebuke.

My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not the law of your mother.

He that spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him chastens him quickly.
